I am particularly impressed by your hard earned observations of what it takes to win the person rather than win the argument, and the importance of listening even just out of self interest.
Well said, and the worse part is that America's overlords are dragging down all of her vassals, with what Putin did, was to as he has done before, pointing out the problems currently plaguing the US. If there was any sense left in any country west of Russia, they would negotiate.
Some such as Poland have good reason to want to keep their distance from Russia, perfectly understandable given their history. But for countries such as Germany, Finland, Ukraine, and many others who don't have the same sort of history or are buffer states they should have been on friendly terms.
Russia's no innocent, but where this Ukraine conflict is concerned, there was no reason to escalate and America really should have stayed out of it, same goes for Canada, England, and all the rest.
Truth is we have been lied to about Russia for a very long time. Once again, we have to create a bogey man.
Putin is a very intelligent man. Part of being intelligent is also being diplomatic and knowing what not to say.
You seem to be one who likes to investigate- if you want to go deeper, look into the sex trafficking and bioweapon labs in Ukraine- supported by the US.
Putin knows and much like Trump, they gotta take out those who can expose them.
This comment: “Nobody with a grain of sanity or common sense really believes this man is running the country. You'd be a fool to think so. But this is precisely what the government and the mainstream media think of us all.”
I know I’m not a fool, yet I’m astonished at MSM news, perspectives and obvious untruths, which tells me they truly think we’re stupid fools! Then I see interviews of the public and realize they have no ability to seek the truth; instead they believe everything they hear.
We need debates back in our country! We need schools that do not indoctrinate; rather, they teach reasoning.
Thank you for this article and opportunity to comment.
I'm curious about some of your other content--looks like we have some overlap in certain areas. Eager to read more and see more of your perspective. Thanks for writing.
This was really good. First time I’ve read your stuff agree with most of it, didn’t understand some of it. But definitely got the last couple of paragraphs and agree totally. I thought the Putin interview was ridiculous, Carlson had opportunity to just drill him on the ridiculousness of war Etc. and ask tough questions about the future of the planet and of humanity. Most people do not understand what’s happening. When I go on long distance cycling expeditions a.k.a. Bike Tourist I meet the regular people and I found that most people are good. They just want to live their lives and have food shelter, clothing, decent education for their kids good health and a decent job with a fair wage to be able to support their families or themselves. Why can’t the powers that be just leave us alone and let us live our lives. Have honesty, integrity. I love the 1950s science fiction movie the Day the Earth stood still… And I’m not talking about aliens being the solution but the underlying meaning of the story which is that as long as we have petty squabbles and greed that under pins humanity, and can potentially destroy all of us, then we have the right to fight for the survival of the human race. Every one of us has that right to live and to be free. That’s the most important thing to remember the right to live in the right to be free. Now we just all need to come collectively together, and somehow create world peace. And when I’m on my bicycling trips, sitting down with people and having a cup of coffee and some food over a meal, I find that we are all the same. Isn’t that interesting? Anyway, thanks for your words again. Keep up the good work.
Nicely done and lots of food for thought. Thank you!
Thank you!🙏🏾

Absolutely agree. Our country’s nose is a bit too long.

I get all my learning from substack... and this is why.

That's awesome. I'll have to check out your work! Thank you!
John Mearsheimer explained how NATO's expansion was an unnecessary and misguided provocation against Russia. Anyway, here's an article I write about Putin's biography: https://open.substack.com/pub/hothistory/p/putin-the-russian-president?r=2o7hq7&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
Thanks!

Thank you for the kind words Bill and I agree. Most people really just want the same things that enable a decent and meaningful life with one another!
