I fear that very soon we are about to witness the fall of this once great nation. Over the last several years. I have tried unsuccessfully to wake people up. Maybe because I am in my sixties, and no one will listen to this old woman. My heart breaks for the children. Their future is being stolen.

Totally agree.

I am 45. Or maybe 46. Hmm…anyhow, my great grandfather was a POW in WWII. He was so proud of this country and he talked about his time in the army his entire life even though it was only a fraction of his 85 years. But he knew its impact. He experienced it. He was at Normandy for D-Day. Sometimes I actually cry about the sacrifices people like my grandfather made and how far we’ve fallen. Those men and women wouldn’t recognize this country. As my dad often says, “I’m glad Pap isn’t here to see what this country has become.” Some of us are listening, Silver Bear! And my son, who is 7, will always hear about both of his great grandfathers’ service.

Thank you Rachel. Your great grandfather was a true hero. I cannot imagine how terrible it must have been to be a prisoner of war. My Dad was in the army toward the end of WWII. He would be horrified to see what is happening now. It is tragic that so many young men lost their lives, and now this country is becoming what they were fighting against. Thank you for telling your son about their sacrifice. Maybe not all hope is lost after all. May God bless you and your son!

I believe the greatest propaganda campaign achieved against the American people was convincing so many that Donald Trump is an existential threat -for all the reasons we hear repeated day in and day out from MSM and the Elites. This has been more successful than the “safe and effective” campaign. I’ve attempted, to no avail, to show friends and family how easy it is to be propagandized by having them watch the  well-known psychological studies that prove it (Ashe conformity, Stanford Prison, Milgrim Experiment etc) with zero success.  I did this because providing factual receipts was not persuasive. It’s extremely frustrating to have raw, unfettered facts outright denied or dismissed. So with all this said, I honestly ask, how do you explain the truth about, say Trump, to all the educated retired liberal people - like my parents – who read the Wall Street Journal, or NYT’s or Atlantic and listen to NPR.  I even went so far as to share information on the media with my mother, using all the normal videos showing the anchors parroting the same lines, proof that fact checking orgs are owned by big tech, the Twitter files, etc. What was my mom’s response? A combo of Wikipedia citations and the age-old question, “but WHY would they do this, Joanna?!”  The answer to that question is a bridge too far for her.  So, I’ve given up on waking her up - I love her but she’s too far gone. Like so many others. This cannot bode well for our future. 😞

We're certainly living in a disturbing period of time. I do think we've reached a tipping point and many people can't be reached. I don't say this as a pessimist, but as someone who attempts to identify patterns within life. There's a pretty good book called the Fourth Turning where the authors present a theory around the life cycles of human history —which are roughly 100 years— comprised of 4 turnings or generations (think Boomers, X, Millennials, etc) that spin up every 25 years within each 100 year cycle. In short, based on American history, we go through cycles of strong, focused individualism -> spiritual upheaval and the civic order becomes challenged -> strengthening of individualism to challenge the regimes values -> a decisive crisis to topple the old regime and institute a new civic order (major wars and utter destruction). We then go through the cycle again.

I think the chief concern of our day —as it's believed we're in the 4 turning now— is that our weapons are far more powerful than in the past. We live in a time where we could really obliterate half the human population. Hopefully that won't happen. But history often repeats itself for a reason.

Well, I am reading this after the election, so there is a sigh of relief. I stayed away from political discussions online- They were strangers and not worth arguing with, because I knew the depth of the deception.

Thankfully, all my friends are intelligent so there were never any debates among us. However, after the election, I was stunned at what I was reading. It is actually sad how terrified these people are. They honestly believe they will be thrown into camps and lose everything because they aren't straight white men. And all the woman who want to end their pregnancy will die from a botched abortion or thrown into jail.

I never watch the news, but it left me angry to think this is the terror they are spreading. It's worse than the imaginary threat of an unseen "virus"

And yeah, all the rapist, insurrectionist language would spin my head around. Although all the receipts, as you call it. are there and available, they wouldn't look because it didn't fit their narrative that the Demon Don was running the show and ruining their lives.

I am glad you mentioned that he was the blame for the pandemic and millions of deaths because I still couldn't wrap my head around that one. HOW??

Anyway, we know they aren't going to quit- but I know WE win- we the people. We aren't backing down and thinking the government will save us, we are now watching with a close eye and getting involved.

Rumor has it, the new administration wants to allow podcasters in the press room and leave the bozo "legacy media" with low ratings and no audience out.

Sorry, but that's what happens when you LIE.

We are entering a new arena! Let the games begin! it's going to be exhilarating to watch. It's also going to be both comical and painful, to see those who had meltdowns adjust to a new reality. The spoon that was feeding them their fear-mongering vengeful addictions will be difficult to locate.

Thanks for writing a sensible article.

Thank you Thea! 🙌🏾

I didn't hear about that rumor concerning the podcasters in the press room but that would be amazing.

A few of the biggest lies that have been told is to never talk about politics or religion. Of course these topics have to be handled well. Rest assured you’ll never get anywhere with someone you care for if 1)They’re never challenged 2)The “challenge” takes place from a position of hostility.

Never give up on people you care for

Has anyone else noticed people who took the rona jabs have changed? More self-focused, harder to connect with? Also, angrier and generally more focused on victimhood (their own or other’s.) I really hope it is just me and not something others are seeing.

This was a wonderful article. Glad I found you. I’ve laid off of my social media because I feel like we can’t change anyone’s minds at this point and I just seem shrill. I think the biggest problem is that people don’t read anymore. The attention span is gone. So I find these great articles and can’t even ensure that people will read them when I share. Legacy media is also the biggest evil.

Question for anyone who has some advice: My husband is voting for Kamala. I have had to lay off of even talking about it to save our marriage. But what would you say to someone at this point who just doesn’t see it? Whose eyes and ears God has closed for whatever reason? Thanks.

I have this issue with some of my friends. They love Harris. Definitely cannot talk to them about politics. At this point, I pray daily for them to wake up. Not certain what else can be done.
