Dumb question: is your carnivorous diet ONLY meat and fish? Nothing else?

Or tiny portions of something just for variety? Like a bun for the burger, kinda thing.

Honestly curious and my own brain fog is showing.

No it's a great question. I primarily eat beef, butter, pork and occasionally eggs. I've been eating a tiny amount of fruit (one apple over the course of 2-3 days) due to my CIRS condition. My physiology changed to the degree I can't stand fish or chicken anymore. Some choose to eat a wider variety. I've also learned you may go through phases as to what you like and dislike as your body's demands change. Beef really should be the foundation of one's carnivore diet though as it provides pretty much all the nutrients the body needs to heal and thrive. As for the "bun", no. Foods that aren't dense in nutrition like fatty meat I no longer have a desire for. Might as well eat air. Plus I'm too aware (and physically scarred) of the poisons in plants so I honestly can't bring myself to eat them in any capacity.

I doubt there is a one-size-fits-all anything. The version of carnivore that works for you will be different in the details than what works for anyone else. Best advice : read and experiment.

Oh and here’s the link to the test. https://www.vcstest.com The military actually gives this test out to service members. It’s free but if you pay $15 you’ll get a detailed report.

My God, may you be blessed for this post. I have been suffering for 6 years with a degenerative brain disease. All of the symptoms you show above I have. I too consider myself a polymath, my intelligence has always been what defines me. The degradation of my brain, memory, use of words, linear, thinking, executive function are all seriously affected. Also nerve damage throughout my body atrophying my muscles on my right side and keeping me in chronic pain. I will take heed to what you have said and report back occasionally to let you and others know if there are any changes for me with this. Dear God, I hope so. I was a super vital 60 year old marketing executive, making $250k per year, now I live in an old age home where the average age is 90, yes 90, I am at the end of my rope.

😩 How nice it would be to just focus on living instead of fighting to live. Sending prayers your way Lauren. Highly recommend taking the VCS test. It could signal there’s a mycotoxin or biotoxin issue. Mold is a huge problem in our current day. And yes, I’d love to hear back and I’m sure others who stop by would too. Thank you!!! Blessings back at you!

I would highly recommend finding a naturopath who understands the Shoemaker protocol. The typical doctors don’t understand inflammatory conditions such as POTS, MCAS, CIRS etc…

A naturopath will suggest you get a blood panel done to look at certain markers that indicate CIRS or other issues. If your markers come back positive along with the failed VCS then that’s pretty conclusive there’s an underlying condition at play. This was how I learned I have CIRS and potentially MCAS which is most likely the thing.

You can find practitioners here - https://www.survivingmold.com/shoemaker-protocol

There’s a large CIRS/Mold community. Nutrition with Judy has great info on it.
