It’s Star Trek’s Kobayashi Maru. My answer is was and always will be no because we were not endowed with the right to do this. Also, there could have been someone worse waiting in the wings.

An incredibly well argumented case Gideon. Remind me never to challenge you in an argument without at least a month of serious background preparation! Seriously though, I am looking forward to reading more of your work. It's a pleasure to have found your writing.

🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔Baby Adolf did nothing wrong. This is like those “choose your own adventure “ books I read as a kid that end up having an even worse alternative ending than imagined. I like the line of thinking though.

Q: Why don't they consider killing his art critics? (It's a joke, calm down).

As to your initial query; murdering what one thinks will be an evil individual based upon the genetic proclivity of said individual seems to employ the same logic for snuffing out the lives of an entire ethnicity based upon their genetics.

Hitler, as well as his entire gang of thugs who followed him, were products of the society at that time. To understand how that was possible, we need to know the full history and understand what Germany was like after World War I. Economic crisis, inflation, unemployment - these social problems contributed to the rise of extremism and nationalism. People needed someone to blame for their hardships.

Hitler was supported by German bankers who funded his campaign to become chancellor and the leader they wanted. He was skilled at manipulating people with nationalist speeches, making young Germans feel empowered and proud to be German. That was enough to create a mob of SS thugs to “restore order,” beat people in the streets, and impose their will on everyone.

Soon after, they began blaming the Jews. They invaded Poland, and the genocide began. One of Hitler’s inner circle, Himmler, proposed the idea of exterminating the Jews - considered an inferior race that “poisoned” the blood of real Germans. Hitler was also indebted to Jewish banks that had helped him rise to power, and this became a convenient way to avoid repaying those debts.

There are many movies about that time, the war, and the horrors that followed.

Unfortunately, we are not far from that mentality today - the belief that some people are superior to others because of their skin color or because they think differently. The distance between what is happening now and what happened then is a small step - one that becomes all too easy to take if laws are ignored and if elected leaders no longer respect the Constitution. The leader sets the tone for the country, and Trump is doing exactly that.

Let’s hope we don’t follow Germany’s path, and that we have learned the lesson from the Second World War: to stop it from ever happening again.

I've never understood this. Any civilian target including children is fair game even under the ROE in certain conditions. Who gives a shit whether he's a baby or not? This question just reflects our collective infancy and inability to confront the realities of warfare.
